The 1500-grit RUPES sanding disc is intended for removing paint defects and at the same time reducing or removing the paint texture (the so-called "orange"). Suitable for sanding using water. It has a total of 15 ventilation holes all over the surface. It is intended for all types of orbital polishers and grinders. Abrasive discs are used for faster removal of deeper defects in the top layer of paint. By repeated polishing, in some cases, it is not possible to achieve the complete removal of these significant defects, in addition, the constantly repeated machine polishing stresses the surrounding undamaged varnish, which is polished together with the defects. Therefore, it is more appropriate to gently sand the heavily damaged part and then polish it using the usual procedure.

The ventilation holes help to remove sanded paint particles and thus reduce the risk of creating unwanted, accidental paint defects caused by these foreign bodies between the sanding wheel and the paint surface. The grinding surface of the disc is not attached to the foam base. This thin construction ensures that paint texture is reduced or eliminated. Therefore, do not use this type of disc if you wish to preserve the texture of the paint (the so-called "orange")! RUPES HQ400 Film Abrasive sanding discs are ideal for removing paint texture, deep defects, show car paint preparations, etc. However, keep in mind that removing paint texture can weaken the clear coat layer by up to 30-50% ! In addition, even the most subtle defects are more noticeable on paint that is stripped of texture!
