The LC8i is a highly flexible eight-channel signal processor with active input circuitry that accepts speaker-level inputs of up to 400 watts per channel from factory source units or amplifiers. It converts them into high-quality preamplifier signals that can then be routed to processors or amplifiers. This means users will enjoy maximum sound quality while still using the factory volume and steering wheel controls. Designed for maximum flexibility, the LC8i features an auxiliary input that allows the easy addition of secondary source units. By tapping the control knob on the dash, the user can switch back and forth between the main speaker level inputs and the auxiliary input. In addition, the multifunction controller on the dash provides both auxiliary input volume control and subwoofer output level adjustment. The LC8i uses proven OEM integration technology derived from AudioControl's highly popular LC6i, LC7i and The Epicenter® Plus signal processors. The speaker-level inputs accept high-power signals (up to 400 watts per channel), either full-scale or crossover, and convert them to high-quality preamplifier signals. Signals from factory radios with built-in crossovers can be summed and combined internally to provide a full-scale preamp signal. Customers looking to deliver sound quality that is clearly superior to OEM systems can also easily add one of the many AudioControl crossovers or EQs after the LC8i to provide even more control over the factory signals.
