ConnectS2 adapter for VW steering wheel controls
Volkswagen steering wheel adapter
Adapter for activating the control buttons on the steering wheel when buying an aftermarket car radio with an ISO connector (included in the adapter) for vehicles:
VW (2014->) with MIB PQ multimedia interface
VW Beetle II. [5C1] (2015->)
VW Caddy V. (2015->)
VW Sharan II. [7N_] (2015->)
VW Tiguan (2015->)
VW Transporter T6 (2015->)
ŠKODA (2014->) with MIB PQ multimedia interface
ŠKODA Yeti (Facelift 2014->)
Only for VW cars with MIB-PQ (MIB2) multimedia interface (separate display and unit located in the glove box in front of the passenger)
It cannot be used in cars without an OEM car radio installed (with preparation for the installation of a car radio) or in cars with an OEM car radio connection or optical cable navigation.
- original car radios or navigation with MIB-PQ multimedia interface with FAKRA connector and CAN-Bus control on the steering wheel
- the adapter supports the control of the Hands free set in the installed aftermarket car radio using the buttons on the steering wheel
- the original car radio connector does not contain +12V when the key is turned on (Vol. 15), this signal must be found in the car and the yellow wire with the fuse box must be connected to it (wire length approx. 1.5m)
- for aftermarket car radios Sony, Kenwood, Panasonic, JVC, Pioneer, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Alpine, LG, Zenec, Becker, Nakamichi, Philips with ISO connector*
* - Must be ordered together with an adapter for the given type of car radio!
The adapter includes wires with analog signals:
- +12V after turning on the key (vol. 15) - fitted in the ISO connector
- +12V after switching on the vehicle lighting - installed in the ISO connector
- +12V after engaging the reverse gear - free wire
- ground (- pole) when the handbrake is applied - free wire
this information can be used to fit aftermarket car radios, navigation or monitoring systems.
