With the new design, these engines have achieved great benefits such as a 10 dB reduction in cabin noise and at the same time a 10% reduction in fuel consumption. However, this is not just a coincidence. The designs of high-end ESB speakers and Rolls-Royce engines are based on the same assumption, namely to reduce undesirable sound characteristics at the edge of the speakers and engines respectively, and to effectively direct the air flow outwards. ESB Audio 9.4M represent the more advanced of the two variants of the 9000 series center speakers. The individual models differ in the diameter of the diaphragm and several other parameters and technologies, but on the other hand, they have many technological and design solutions in common. At first glance, you will be impressed by the design of the center speaker, led by a carbon diaphragm, a beautiful basket in a floral design and an optional grille made of CNC machined aluminum. The membrane is made of vacuum- and autoclave-pressed high-strength carbon. Perhaps there is no more ideal combination of lightness and stiffness to balance diaphragm deflections at low and very high frequencies. This technology is rarely used in loudspeakers due to its price, but it brings huge advantages in terms of natural reproduction and high dynamics during transients. The diaphragm features a laminated aluminum dust cover that helps extend the frequency response of this mid-bass speaker upwards, and its shape and size help balance and linearize the frequency response. The NBL rubber suspension has a shape designed to provide a very smooth, low yaw movement that becomes more and more controlled as you approach the limit. This also contributes to the fact that this speaker is extremely dynamic and able to handle big performances. Also worth mentioning is the powder-coated speaker basket made of cast aluminum, which offers very little resistance to the passage of air and its shape reduces vibrations and resonances. A pair of large neodymium magnets are resistant to high temperatures and represent one of the most powerful magnet systems for a midrange speaker of this size. The magnets ensure enormous magnetic force even after hours of playing and generate incredible driving force for perfect coil control, high transient response speed and allow the size and volume of the magnetic motor to be significantly reduced. Among the exclusive technologies of the 9000 series loudspeakers is the TCA system. This controls the flow of air moving through the diaphragm and creates aperiodic damping resistance. This means that the energy accumulated during the movement of the diaphragm is released in a controlled and rapid manner, without permanent oscillations. This contributes to a more accurate and faithful response to the sound source and to the accuracy and overall quality of the experience. A copper ring placed in the air gap helps to reduce the inductance of the voice coil so that it offers minimal resistance at high frequencies. This means a better high-frequency response, which allows the speaker to more accurately reproduce high-frequency sounds. Reducing the inductance contributes to better handling of fast transitions in audio signals, which can improve the speaker's ability to more accurately reproduce transient audio impulses.

About the ESB Audio brand

The history of ESB Audio dates back to 1972, when this Italian brand was officially founded.
