The extra thin foam disc allows more pressure to be transferred to the polisher during polishing. They heat up faster when working compared to pads with a larger internal volume, which can also increase sanding ability. You can use the Slim Reaper with both orbital and rotary polishers, we always recommend trying the Fiber Scyther microfiber pad in an inconspicuous spot if you have an orbital machine. This is because microfiber discs run cooler than foam and can often generate the same level of cut as aggressive foams, but with much less heat (and therefore much less risk of heat build-up for the pads and machine). The Slim Reaper fits 70mm - 80mm drivers with a small overhang (so that the edge of the paint pad doesn't rest against the paint during polishing). This overhang is less than usual to allow the pad to provide more support, so be careful if you are working with the angle of rotation of the rotor or if you are new to machine polishing.
