Meguiar's Quik Scratch Eraser Kit
The set for removing local paint defects, e.g. from nearby parked cars, etc., brings new possibilities for quick repair of slightly damaged paint in home conditions, all with an easy mechanical method. If the damage is not so bad that it penetrates the paint into the lower layers, then we have a great solution for you to remove more defects than you could manage with just hand polishing. The same also applies, for example, to scratches from nails around the door handles, from twigs on the sides of the car and other light to medium damage to the paintwork. This set includes the popular Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 polisher and a special polisher attachment for the drill, which just clips onto a regular drill (electric or cordless) and uses it to remove the defect from the paint.
Application procedure:
- Shake well!
- Work in the shade and on a clean body that is cool to the touch. Work only on glossy varnishes, incl. metallic (do not use on matt lacquers!).
- Attach the polishing attachment to the drill (follow the drill manufacturer's instructions) and make sure it is firmly seated.
- Always hold the drill firmly with both hands, keep the polishing attachment flat on the paint surface while working, and keep it moving. Leaving the spinning polishing attachment in one place for a long time can lead to paint damage!
- Apply Meguiar's ScratchX 2.0 polish to the polishing attachment in an X shape.
- Place the full surface of the polishing attachment on the paint surface and work at medium speed.
- Polish the lacquer in a grid pattern with 4 - 6 strokes. Repeat as necessary until the defect is removed.
- Remove the polish residue from the attachment by pressing the polishing attachment several times with a clean, damp microfiber cloth.
- Subsequently, polish once more the area on which you worked 4 - 6 strokes, in a grid manner.
- Wipe off any remaining polish with a clean, dry microfiber cloth.
- After polishing, we recommend protecting the paint with one of the waxes, sealants or coatings.
- If the defect is so deep that it feels like a groove / unevenness when you run your fingernail over it, then it will require professional repair to remove the defect and it is very likely that the defect will not be able to be removed with this kit!
