Portable radar detectors have clear advantages in their ability to be transferred to another vehicle. So if you have more cars and want to save money, it is possible to take the anti-radar with you. The portable anti-radar is installed on the windshield using a suction cup. The disadvantage is its visibility and the need to use a power cable, which is either visible and a bit cumbersome (plugging into the cigarette lighter socket), or you can make a hidden installation of the cable in the A-pillar and connect it directly to the fuse box (but it cannot be carried). A big advantage of portable radar detectors is also their directionality, thanks to their placement on the windshield they can measure both the space in front of and behind the vehicle (CAUTION - it does not work in vans with a fixed partition).
