Sound insulation material SGM Isol I8

SGM Isol I4 is a multi-layer material that combines three functions - anti-vibration, sound insulation and heat insulation. The first layer of material consists of a 2 mm thick sealant, which dampens vibrations and prevents the development of corrosion processes due to preventing the penetration of moisture. The second layer consists of 8 mm thick polyethylene foam with high noise absorption and thermal insulation properties. The material is highly flexible and can be applied even to highly embossed surfaces. It is absolutely waterproof, does not absorb moisture and does not rot. The extremely adhesive self-adhesive layer guarantees effectiveness at -40 °C to +120 °C. Available in 6 and 10 mm thickness.

Main properties of SGM Isol I8 material

  • Multi-layer material with anti-vibration and sound and heat insulating properties.
  • 100% resistance to water and moisture, the material does not absorb moisture and does not rot.
  • Resistance to extreme temperatures with the same adhesive effect at temperatures from -40 °C to +100 °C.
  • High flexibility of the material for quick and easy application even on highly embossed surfaces.
  • The ability of thermal insulation and protection against heat loss.

About SGM damping materials

The Russian company SGM Technology was founded in 2006, and since then it has been one of the leading Russian manufacturers of sound and heat insulation materials for the automotive, shipbuilding, aviation and construction industries. The combination of excellent physical properties of materials and technological methods is the result of the highly efficient performance of the specialized workforce of SGM, which consists of specialists from the best technical universities of Russia. Currently, SGM offers over 200 types of materials that meet the strictest quality and stability standards with certification according to ISO 9001: 2008 and ISO / TS 16949. Long-term cooperation with such giants as Bosch or LG is proof of the highest quality of SGM products, which has long been one of the best on the market today. At the turn of 2019 and 2020, the SGM company presented hi-tech noise-reducing materials from the top Prime series, which in their performance slightly surpass even the premium materials of the market leader in noise reduction from Comfortmat. You can buy the products of both highly competitive manufacturers, who are constantly competing with innovations in the field of vehicle sound deadening, on our e-shop with a guarantee of the most technologically advanced and most effective products of today. Thanks to the official representation of our company for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, you can count on sufficient stock and professional service.

Acoustic Loss Factor (MLF)The acoustic loss factor (in English, mechanical loss factor) expresses the ability of the material to absorb propagating sound and change the energy of vibrations created by the sound into thermal energy. The theoretical maximum loss factor is 1, which means no vibration. For example, non-sound-proof steel with a thickness of 1 mm has a loss factor of approx. 0.001 at 200 Hz. Therefore, the higher the loss factor, the better. By combining damping materials, it is possible to significantly increase the loss factor to values approaching 1. 0.12
