A subwoofer is a bass speaker that can play lower frequencies and thus complete the entire frequency range . Subwoofers come in a variety of sizes, the most common subwoofer diameters are 12", 10" and today mainly 8". Subwoofers perform best in a cabinet. Most often placed in the trunk of the car or under the seat if possible. Frequency range starts at 20 Hz and ends at 60 - 250 Hz max, where the middle band already follows the bass.
