Zapco ASP-Q1 three-band crossover equalizer
An equalizer (preamp) that lives up to the Zapco name. Designed for everyone who is serious about sound quality. The ASP-Q1 was not designed to be an "accessory" toy or dashboard jewel. The ASP-Q1 was designed to be an effective tool in tuning and controlling the sound of the car audio system. As a dashboard mount equalizer, it's second to none. With 5 bands of parametric equalization, you can set ±18dB correction at any point in the frequency spectrum without being limited by fixed center points. With internal audiophile-grade components in the signal path and precise controls for all settings, the sound will be clean and transparent, with solid bass and crystal-clear highs. The ASP-Q1 also excels as a crossover. You can configure it as a 2-band crossover with bass and dual treble or as a 3-band crossover with bandpass. An aux input with its own input gain control allows you to connect a portable source and adjust the level of the main input. An oversized power supply gives you a 9.5V line driver with 14V available for peaks. This gives the ASP-Q1 plenty of headroom so that even with the biggest signal peaks you get a clean signal without distortion. The ASP-Q1 is more than just an equalizer. It's a true control preamplifier for your sound system.
The main features of the Zapco ASP-Q1 equalizer
- Five-band parametric equalization: Because no two cars are alike, there's no way to know exactly where the center points should be on a particular car. The ASP-Q1 allows you to change the center of each of your 5 EQ bands to place the correction exactly where you need it to tailor the system to your car.
- Variable electronic crossover 18 dB / octave: There are 4 crossover filters on the ASP-Q1. You can choose only 3 filters to configure a 2-way system with subwoofer and front and rear speakers with high pass or full range and front to back EQ. You can also use all 4 filters to configure an active 3-band system with a woofer, a bandpass for the midrange and a high pass for the tweeter.
- Separate bass control: The bass output is controlled separately. The bass lever allows you to balance the bass to the treble. In addition to the bass crossover filter, there's also a bass phase control that adjusts the phase of the bass signal from 0 to 180 degrees to help align the bass wave with the rest of the system.
- Auxiliary input: The ASP-Q1 has an auxiliary input, so you can play from another source in the car from a portable player.
- Input gain control: Each main and auxiliary input channel has its own input signal setting.
- Balanced/Unbalanced Inputs: The ASP-Q1 can accept either balanced inputs, with a Bal/UnBal switch for Main-in and Aux-in.
- Tiffany Style Panel Mount RCA Connectors: Provides a hassle-free RCA signal connection.
- High Voltage Supply: The ASP-Q1 has a remote high voltage supply for a true 9.5V RMS preamplifier output.
