The vast majority of today's amplifiers have built-in crossovers. However, these are designed mainly for comfort, not for sound. An audiophile crossover would be too big and too expensive to build into an amp. With a built-in crossover, you change the sound to comfort, so Zapco electronic crossovers are here for all those who don't want to accept this fact. The Zapco ASP-X4 is the absolute pinnacle of analog electronic crossovers. This unit was originally designed to complement the new LX models of Zapco Z-Series amplifiers. The LXs are uncompromising and have no preamplifier features other than input sensitivity. To meet the standards of an amplifier like the LX series, a special crossover is required and the ASP-X4 has exactly what it needs. And something more. The same high-end Elna Silmic ll capacitors and OP275 op amps used in the LX amps are also used in the ASP-X4 (as in other Zapco processors). Another important element affecting the sound is the quality of the drivers. It must be clean, accurate and must not add distortion. Zapco became the manufacturer of the best controllers because no other supplier could meet Zapco's demands.
Finally, all the versatility of Zapco has been built in. With high pass, low pass and dual pass filter systems you can run a 3 pass or 4 pass system. You can even have an active 3-way system and a full-range rear. And with a dual input system, you can switch between a main 3-way system and a full-range rear. The X4 crossover is designed to meet the demands of the top line of Z amplifiers. Since it can be assumed that this crossover is likely to be purchased with amplifiers, we illuminated the clear plastic protective cover for an extra installation feel.
