Bilt Hamber Auto-Clay
Claye Bilt Hamber are designed to restore the smoothness of the paintwork as easily as possible. The professional detailing public has given Clay Bilt Hamber many positive reviews for their durability and price/performance ratio. England's Auto Express magazine, a giant in the world of motoring magazines, has awarded the Bilt Hamber Clay "Best Clay" six times in a row! What Clay Bilt Hamber will you need?
Choosing the right clay stiffness depends on several factors.Use Regular if the car is really dirty (it has never been decontaminated before), or if it is warm outside - choose hard Regular Clay. Clay softens in the heat and hardens again in the winter.
Choose Medium for paint in decent condition. Bilt Hamber's best selling Clay. Golden mean.
Use Soft if the paintwork is in very good condition (if you clay often) or if it's cold outside.
When is Bilt Hamber Clay used?
First, assess the degree of pollution - metal particles, flying rust, settled dirt behind the wheel. Lightly run your fingertips or the entire palm over the polish. You can feel the unevenness of the particles deposited on the paint. By using a hard, medium or soft clay, you will remove all these impurities and the varnish will be beautifully smooth again. Clay can also remove small but resistant dirt from the roads. When working with clay, lubricate with water in sufficient quantity and do not press too hard on the clay, just move it gently over the bodywork. Better than water alone is to use special lubricants for working with clay. Not only will your paint look much better and feel much better after working with the clay, but the decontaminated paint will be much easier to work with during the next stages of car paint maintenance and restoration (waxing, sanding, etc.). On a surface prepared in this way, it is better to work with wax, paint cleaner or polish. We highly recommend usingKorrosol fly rust remover before mechanical decontamination of the lacquer with clay. Spray the Korrosol, let it act for 2-3 minutes and then rinse with a stream of water. By using Bilt Hamber Korrosol you extend the life of the clay. How is Clay Bilt Hamber used?
- Before using Clay Bilt Hamber, wash your car thoroughly with car shampoo.
- Wash the car in the shade and work with clay in the same way, it should not be too hot and the body panels must be cool.
- Spray a reasonable amount of water or lubricant on the panel you want to clay, and then begin to lightly move the clayed area back and forth. Auto-Clay must not be run dry.
- At the beginning of claying, you can even hear the contamination as a soft noise or whistling, which gradually disappears.
- Afterwards, check your fingertips to see if all the contamination has really been removed.
- Once you're sure the paint is clean, dry the panel with a detailer and a microfiber cloth.
- You may see black or brown traces of decontamination on the clay itself, and that's what you want to see.
- Fold the clay bar so that the dirt is inside and only clean clay is visible for further use.
- Clay bar from Bilt Hamber lasts for at least 5 vehicles.
