The M17 smart desktop player is a completely new chapter of FiiO digital audio players. DAC ES9038PRO

Each left and right audio channel features an 8-channel flagship desktop-class ES9038PRO DAC. This means that each audio channel has 8 parallel outputs added together for excellent resolution and minimal distortion for extremely clean sound reproduction.

Power supply

When powered by battery, there are 4 power levels: low, medium, high and headphone mode. In DC mode, enhanced mode gain is unlocked over headphones with truly desktop gain levels. In balanced output, the gain can reach up to 16dB – allowing the M17 to easily control most headphones. The M17 includes two power supplies – a battery supply and an external DC power supply. Battery power allows the M17 to be used in situations where there is no access to an electrical outlet. With DC power, the voltage in the analog circuit is increased by 35% up to 11.5 V compared to battery power; and the battery remains healthy because it is not used in this mode.

Thanks to its larger size, the M17 offers a variety of connection options that allow for many different convenient use cases.

Heat dissipation

Exceptional sound quality comes with high power consumption, so great emphasis was placed on efficient heat dissipation when designing the M17. Not only have "H" heat dissipation and VC liquid cooling technologies been adopted, but the 15lg M17 aluminum alloy unibody frame also effectively transfers heat out of the device. Finally, the cooling fan rack further ensures quick heat dissipation.

Internal calibration

TI OPA2211 high-end operational amplifier. Voltage noise of 1.1nV@1kHz and THD+N -136dB results in extremely clean amplification.
470mF DMF supercapacitor. The equivalent of 10,000 47uF tantalum capacitors with a very low ESR of 45mΩ (only 15% of the tantalum capacitor value), providing a solid foundation for large power supplies.
Ultra-low noise LT3045 LDO. Ultra-low noise, ultra-high PSRR low-dropout linear voltage regulator with LDO Linear Technology architecture with extremely low RMS noise of 0.8μVRMS in the frequency band of 10Hz-100kHz for stable and clean power supply of DAC chip.
NDK femtosecond crystal oscillator. It provides a high-precision, low-jitter unified clock source for the entire audio circuit.
