Meguiar's Engine Cleaner (473 ml)
Meguiar's Engine Cleaner is designed for quick and easy engine washing. Thanks to its composition, it quickly and safely removes all dirt and grease. You can safely use this product to wash plastics and rubber hoses without damaging their surface.
Recommended engine cleaning procedure - quick / dry cleaning
- Before cleaning, warm up the engine briefly - leave it running for 10 minutes with the hood closed to loosen any coating of dirt and grease.
- Use compressed air or another suitable method to remove leaves and other coarse debris from the engine compartment.
- Shake the product before use.
- Spray a sufficient amount of product directly onto the cleaned surface from a distance of approx. 30 cm.
- Carefully clean the entire surface with a brush with firm but not sharp bristles. You can use, for example, brushes from our offer.
- Afterwards, use two microfibre cloths to wipe off product residues from all surfaces.
- Wipe off dirt with one cloth, wipe dry with the other.
- Do not leave the product on any surface for more than 2-3 minutes and do not let it dry!
- If necessary, divide the engine compartment into smaller parts, such as quarters, and work in sections so as not to exceed the time limit of the product's effect.
- Do not use on polished metal surfaces without topcoat!
- Finally, apply a protection such as G17316 Meguiar's Engine Dressing to all cleaned surfaces. This will treat the surfaces after using the degreaser, nourish, protect and give them a luxurious, rich and dark look.
- Spray the dressing on the surface and with a fine brush, such as one from our current offer, spread it so that it covers the entire surface evenly.
- Let the dressing dry!
- Wipe off excess with a microfibre cloth to achieve a solid, dark and rich look on all plastic, rubber and metal parts.
Recommended engine cleaning procedure - complete detailing
- Modern engines are designed to withstand moisture. With a suitable procedure, you can easily and effectively clean even a heavily soiled engine compartment.
- Leave the engine running for about 10 minutes with the hood closed to loosen any coating of dirt and grease.
- Wear safety glasses to prevent the cleaner from getting into your eyes.
- Use compressed air or another suitable method to remove leaves and other coarse debris from the engine compartment.
- Seal the area around the engine compartment (front bumper, mudguards, front doors) with masking tape and a covering film from our offer to prevent the surrounding paint from being stained with cleaner and other chemicals and dirt from the engine compartment.
- Cover all sensitive electronic parts into which water can penetrate (e.g. exposed sensors, installed electronic devices without the necessary sealing, open air filters, etc.) before starting the cleaning.
- Wrap the electronics and open air filters with food film to prevent water and dirt from entering, then reinforce with e.g. aluminum foil (aluminum foil) and cover with masking tape.
- You can seal the inlets of the air intakes with a microfiber or cotton cloth.
- Shake the product before use.
- Spray a sufficient amount of product directly onto the cleaned surface from a distance of approx. 30 cm.
- Carefully clean the entire surface, including all corners, with a brush with firm but not sharp bristles. You can use, for example, brushes from our offer.
- Rinse the cleaned part with water. We recommend using a spray nozzle on a hose. Using a pressure washer can cause moisture to enter sensitive electronics, and a strong jet of water can mechanically damage some fragile components in the engine compartment.
- Do not leave the product on any surface for more than 2-3 minutes and do not let it dry!.
- If necessary, divide the engine compartment into smaller parts, such as quarters, and work in sections so as not to exceed the time limit of the product's effect.
- Do not use on polished metal surfaces without topcoat!
- Then clean the lower part of the hood using the same procedure. Finally, we recommend washing the hood from the inside using a washing glove and car shampoo to strengthen the shine of the paint and rinsing with water.
- If the hood has textile padding, spray only a small amount of the product on the surface, clean with a gentle brush suitable for textiles and wipe with a microfibre cloth.
- Once again, gently rinse the entire engine compartment from any remaining cleaner.
- You can do drying in two ways:
- Close the hood, start the engine and let it dry with the heat produced. Uncover all covered engine parts before starting!
- Dry the engine compartment with compressed air - (recommended).
- Unmask surrounding body parts, expose all engine parts.
- Finally, apply a protection such as G17316 Meguiar's Engine Dressing to all cleaned non-textile surfaces. This will treat the surfaces after using the degreaser, nourish, protect and give them a luxurious, rich and dark look.
- Spray the dressing on the surface and spread it with a soft brush, e.g. one of our current offers, so that it covers the entire surface evenly.
- Let the dressing dry.
- Wipe off excess with a microfibre cloth to achieve a solid, dark and rich look on all plastic, rubber and metal parts.
