Meguiar's Hybrid Wash Mitt
Each side of the Meguiar's Hybrid Wash Mitt has been developed specifically for a specific purpose and maximum result when washing and waxing your car with Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wash & Wax Shampoo.
Orange, washing side:
- The chenille microfiber fills with the hybrid ceramic shampoo and holds it inside to effectively (yet 100% gently) remove all loose dirt from the paint without scratching it.
Gray, wax side:
- The fine microfiber captures the Hybrid Ceramic SiO2 Boost shampoo in the bucket and spreads it over the paint surface to achieve hydrophobic (water-repellent) protection during the wash itself.
You can also use the Meguiar's Hybrid Wash Mitt to wash with other Meguiar's shampoos.
Tips for washing your car
- Careless washing is the main source of paint damage. Improper hand washing or visiting gantry/brush car washes will inevitably result in scratches and damage to your car's paintwork.
- Always wash in such a way as to eliminate the risk of damaging the paint.
- Always use only your own, proven shampoo, not over-the-counter shampoos whose origin is unknown and whose washing properties have not been carefully verified.
- Do not use dishwashing detergents, household detergents, non-contact or active cleaners and foams, degreasers, solvents and other detergents! These cleaners are generally not gentle on the protective wax layer or polishing oils on the paint surface, drying it out and leaving it exposed and without any protection. Unprotected paint will begin to degrade very soon on the surface, its oxidation and loss of gloss will begin to show, it is very dangerously exposed to the adverse effects of the surrounding environment and is significantly more susceptible to mechanical and chemical damage.
- The water you wash your car with should be as close to body temperature as possible.
- Use the two-bucket method, or a Meguiar's bucket with a Grit Guard liner.
- Do not use foam sponges! These sponges cannot effectively absorb dirt and you can scratch the paint by using them. Use only a gentle washing glove with very fine bristles made of microfiber or natural lamb's wool, which catch small dirt and absorb it.
- Ideal for use with G210256 Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wash & Wax and for best results with X210200 Meguiar's Hybrid Wash Mitt.
- Always dry the car after washing! This will prevent the formation of water spots caused by minerals contained in the water. In addition, active drying prevents the redeposition of dust during spontaneous drying.
- For drying, use only a quality, extremely absorbent microfiber drying towel, such as X1905 Meguiar's Supreme Drying Towel XL, X2000 Meguiar's Water Magnet, or premium natural chamois, such as X2100 Meguiar's Natural Chamois. Locally, you can dry hard-to-reach areas with compressed air (watch out for re-contamination with oil that can spray out of the nozzle!). We do not recommend drying with a silicone squeegee, which can catch a grain of dust and scratch the paint!
- Meguiar's shampoo doesn't need to lather at all, yet it has all its great properties and is 100% gentle. Always mix the shampoo into the water so that when you add the water, the foam does not start to overflow from the bucket before you have enough water in the bucket. The shampoo does not need to be extremely foamy!
