This is immediately apparent at first glance, as all connections are gold-plated, including special RCA connections on the chassis and robust terminals for power and speakers. Inside each amplifier, the signal path has been carefully designed and selected components, such as the famous Burr-Brown OPA2134 op-amps, ensure excellent performance. These op amps give the MPS Limited their remarkably natural and detailed sound profile. WIMA metallized capacitors in turn preserve the integrity of the original signal that flows into the amplifier. Sanken's exceptional bipolar output transistors have been selected for their excellent linear gain, high power and low distortion, while ultra-low ESR, high voltage Rubicon capacitors in the power and output sections provide the amplifiers with dynamics and resolution for truly peak performance.

Optimized for thermal and energy efficiency

The MPS Limited's compact chassis has been carefully optimized to handle the robust performance of each amplifier. Using advanced computational analysis, our engineers developed two models to share the same chassis dimensions while handling the thermal requirements of two different amplifier topologies. This ensures that the power output of each amp is maximized and remains stable when played at any volume level.

Unique amp stacking

Keeping the amplifiers small and compact was a high priority. However, with many systems designed around active configurations and DSPs, multiple channels of gain are required. More gain channels require more amplifiers and more space. To solve this problem, MPS Limited models are equipped with unique cast aluminum end caps with removable plates. These allow various mounting options, including stacking of amplifiers. Using the optional MPS-STKP stacking plates gives installers the ability to minimize floor space consumption with multiple amplifiers by stacking them vertically. Not only does this method save space, but the chassis and stacking boards have been designed to maintain the amplifier's maximum thermal efficiency.

All installers and settings on one page

As with current MPS amplifiers, installation and ease of use have been prioritized. Single sided circuitry keeps all connections on one side of the amplifier, making installation simple and clean. Preamplifier tuning and setting options are located discreetly under a removable panel on top of the amp, along with a choice of remote +12V auto-on, signal sensing or DC shutdown sensing.

Power supply with selectable voltage

The MPS 2.150 Limited amplifier power supply has been developed with a unique design of an optional voltage bar. Since Class AB amplifiers operate at a higher temperature than their Class D counterparts, this feature allows users to maximize the output of the amplifier based on the impedance of the speaker it is feeding to keep the amplifier in its optimal thermal range. After installation, the correct mode is selected. In high power mode, the MPS 2.150 Limited delivers 150W x 2 into a 4 ohm load. When switched to high current mode, the amplifier is optimized to produce 150W x 2 into 2 ohms. This simple solution creates an exceptionally stable platform and a highly efficient way to utilize the amplifier's performance potential.
