Car radio sizeCar radios are divided into 2 basic sizes, 1DIN car radios and 2DIN car radios . 1DIN size car radios - the exact dimensions including the metal frame where the car radio is inserted are 184 x 53 mm, the external dimensions of the branded 1DIN car radio are 188 x 59 mm. We know 2DIN car radios from newer vehicles, a classic example is the VW Golf IV with navigation. The dimensions of a 2DIN car radio without a metal frame are 180 x 101 mm, the external dimensions of a branded 2DIN car radio are 189 x 119 mm. | 1 DIN |
Car radio performanceThe performance of the car radio shown in maximum values. This is therefore the MAX value. The performance of the internal amplifier of the car radio. Today, the RMS power of a car radio ranges from 17 - 30 W RMS per channel. | 4 x 55W |
Supported formats via USB inputList of all supported formats (MP3, AAC, Flac, DivX, etc.) that the car radio can play via USB input. | MP3, WMA, FLAC |
USB inputThe USB input of the car radio is used to connect a USB flash drive or smartphone. Today, playing music via USB is the most popular way to listen to music in the car. The USB input can be front (on the front panel of the car radio) or rear (on the back of the cable). | Yes |
CD driveCar radios with CD drive. Car radios that have an input slot for inserting a CD. | No |
SD card accessModern branded car radios can play SDHC SD cards up to 32 GB, sometimes even 64 GB. The SD card slot is behind the front panel in most car radios. | No |
DVD driveDVD ("Digital Versatile Disc" or "Digital Video Disc") is a digital optical data carrier format that can contain movies or various other data. Car radios with a DVD drive can also play classic CD discs, and the car radio always has a slot for only one disc, the CD drive and the DVD drive are always in one. | No |
Integrated BluetoothBluetooth is a communication technology used for wireless connection between two or more electronic devices. A mobile phone, for example, can be connected to a car radio with built-in Bluetooth. Most car radios for 2017 and later can also wirelessly stream (play) music via Bluetooth -> A2DP function. | Yes |
Audio Streaming via BluetoothA2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) is a Bluetooth profile that enables the wireless transmission of stereo audio from an A2DP source, typically a mobile phone or computer, to an A2DP receiver (car radio). These devices usually also support the AVRCP profile. | Yes |
External microphone included in the packageThe external microphone is connected from the back of the car radio to the input marked "MIC". For ideal sound quality during a phone call, we recommend placing the external microphone on the left "A" pillar at the point where the "A" pillar and the roof panel connect to each other. A very good position to place an external microphone is also near the central rear-view mirror. | No |
Number of RCA outputsRCA outputs , colloquially called "cinches", are used to connect an external amplifier or active subwoofer. Aftermarket car radios are usually equipped with 1 to 3 pairs of RCA outputs. FRONT, REAR and SUB are used. It also depends on how many volt outputs the car radio is equipped with. More basic models of car radios have 2V outputs, more expensive units have 4V and more. The higher the specified value, the less power demands are placed on the external amplifier and the sound quality increases. | 2 pairs |
Output level on RCAAn important parameter if you are going to install an external amplifier. If you purchase a car radio with a basic value, i.e. 2V outputs, then greater demands will be placed on the power of the amplifier. As the value increases, e.g. 4V or 5V, the power of the external amplifier increases significantly, in layman's terms. A car radio with strong outputs therefore has the advantage that you do not pull so much power through the amplifier and thus achieve a better sound, as external amplifiers lose control at higher loads. | 2 V |
Made for Apple iPod & iPhoneWhen connecting an Apple device to the car radio, music applications can be controlled using the car radio itself, i.e. basic common functions. | Yes |
Works with Android OSAfter connecting a smartphone with the ANDROID operating system, the car radio can control music in the Android OS music player (Google Play, Spotify, etc.), so there is no need to pick up a mobile phone. You control the basic, common functions of the music application with the car radio itself. | No |
Backlit buttonsColor options for the backlight of the car radio buttons. | Red |
Display backlightOptions for backlighting the car radio display. | White |
Loudness functionThe Loudness function pulls out certain frequencies and accentuates them with a higher volume. It is good to use Loudness at a low volume, we do not recommend turning on this function at a higher volume because the sound will not be balanced and in extreme cases you can even damage the speakers. | No |
Bass boost functionBass boost or bass enhancement. With this function, the bass itself can be emphasized, at a high level of bass boost, the speakers and the subwoofer can distort a lot and the sound will be worse than better. We therefore recommend using the "bass boost" function wisely. With maximum use of bass boost, there is a risk of damage to the speakers and thus to the subwoofer. | Yes |
NFC connectionNFC is a new form of wireless communication between devices. Simply place a smartphone that is equipped with NFC to the car stereo with NFC, and the two devices will connect immediately, so you can immediately play music from the smartphone to the car stereo. So all you have to do is get close and the connection will happen. | Yes |
Built-in DAB+ tunerIntegrated DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting) digital FM tuner for reception of digital FM radio signal broadcasting. Before buying a car radio with a DAB+ tuner, we recommend checking whether the package includes a DAB+ antenna, without which you cannot receive digital broadcasts. This information is usually provided on the manufacturer's official website. | No |
Removable front panelPossibility to remove the entire front panel of the car radio by pressing the side button. A very effective weapon against car radio theft. We recommend not hiding the panel in the vehicle, but taking it with you. Alternatively, place the panel in a hidden place in the trunk, but not when leaving the car, but before parking. You never know when a thief might be watching you. | Yes |
Remote control includedCard IR remote control of the car radio, thanks to which certain functions of the car radio incl. control the volume from the hand, remotely. | No |
Input for steering wheel button control adapterCar radios equipped with a cable input or a 3.5 Jack socket for an adapter to control the buttons on the steering wheel. Most branded car radios have this input, from the back of the car radio body. | Yes |
Cable with ISO terminal included in the packageThere is usually a specific 12-18 pin connector on the back of the car radio itself, into which the reduction to standard ISO is connected. This cable is always included in the package of branded aftermarket car radios and has a length of 8 - 15 cm. | Yes |
Cover for the front panel included in the packagePlastic or fabric cover for the front panel. A good helper against destroying or scratching the front panel of the car radio. | No |
