As part of the Reference Series, the Morel IR-BMW42 2-way component system takes acoustic performance in BMW cars to a whole new level. Music lovers will be overwhelmed by the level of tonal clarity and detail they are used to from Morel speakers. Featuring DirectFit, a unique 4” chassis design with included mounting brackets, easy snap-in 1.1” (28mm) tweeters and factory cable connections, the IR-BMW42 allows for installation in all BMW models without any modifications. Also available are separate mid, tweeter and center loudspeakers of the Reference series.

The Morel IR-BMW42 system is based on Morel's globally highly acclaimed Hybrid range. The 4-inch (100mm) mid-woofer uses a 2.1” (54mm) voice coil, which is up to 3x larger than conventional speakers. The EVC™ design moves the magnetic drive system inside the voice coil and eliminates magnetic flux by effectively directing all magnetic energy into the voice coil. The result is an ultra efficient and powerful system with efficient heat dissipation and reduced distortion. With the hybrid system, more of the amplified power is converted to sound energy for flawless performance, even in a small driver. These technologies are underlined by the ultra-light DPC (Damped Polymer Cone) membrane, which stands out for its exceptional sound quality without coloration and exemplary self-damping. All this will enable a plug-and-play speaker system that is simply unmatched. Due to the high quality of this system, the installation of an appropriate amplifier and DSP processor is required.
