Porsche Cayenne - soundproofing

After the facelift, the appearance of the car has changed slightly, the offer includes adaptive LED headlights and more comfortable suspension, and the German engineers did not forget about the factory sound insulation. This is part of the upholstery of the floor, rear wheel arches or roof, and acoustic glass is also available, including the front one. However, protection against vibrations is quite inexplicably almost completely absent. However, even such a package of measures cannot raise sound insulation to a really high level. Large wheels cause aggressive noise penetrating through the wheel arches and the floor, and ambient road and aerodynamic noise is not excluded either. In addition, all the noise in the interior increases with increasing speed, which brings discomfort to both the driver and other passengers. Since the owner wanted to soundproof the car in the maximum possible way without compromise, we decided on top materials from the workshop of the Russian manufacturer SGM, which offers highly effective materials without the need to apply three layers of soundproofing. So we soundproofed all the essential areas of the car, namely the front, rear and fifth doors, the floor, the luggage compartment including the rear fenders, and the front fenders. We could not soundproof the roof because of the large panoramic window. Dismantling and subsequent reassembly of the interior as well as the soundproofing itself is very demanding in this car, and the installation time of 35 hours for our 4 experienced technicians corresponds to this. Nevertheless, we manage to complete the soundproofing within 1 working day.
