Mercedes V-Class - soundproofing and sound system (Burmester upgrade)

Noise reduction and sound system for a premium Mercedes-Benz V-Class MPV. This popular car is already a traditional visitor to our workshop, mainly due to its insufficient factory sound insulation. As this is a higher-class car, owners expect a high standard also in terms of factory noise reduction. And often a great disappointment follows after the purchase. Even in the case of the V-Class, there is practically no shift compared to other cars from the category of commercial vehicles, and when driving you can hear unpleasant noise from the engine, wheels, road and aerodynamic noise. In order for the popular "Véčko" to meet the parameters of a premium car, the owner turned to us to take care of the noise in this car. The owner and I selected our Premium Plus sound deadening package, which covers all important areas of the car except for the roof. Specifically, we focused on the front, sliding and fifth doors, floor, sides, front and rear wheel arches and hood. In addition to the package, we also soundproofed the torpedo, the sound insulation of which is of great importance in these cars. For the Plus package, we choose more efficient and stronger materials, so the car is soundproofed to the maximum possible. For such a large car, the price of the package is increased because we spent more time on the car and used more pieces of materials. We also devoted ourselves to a new sound system, when we replaced the speakers of the additional Burmester system. Unfortunately, it does not have a sufficiently high-quality audio performance, which fortunately can be significantly improved by simply replacing the speakers. We chose a complete set from the German manufacturer Eton, which includes component speakers for the front doors and rear doors and coaxial speakers for the dashboard. Of course, we connected everything to the factory amplifier, which provides sufficient power to the speakers. The result of the installation is not only significantly better sound with detailed highs and precise lower frequencies, but also an overall quiet car with an incomparably higher driving comfort. We already had to spread out such an extensive installation over two working days in order for the result to be 100% complete.
