Comfortmat Atom anti-vibration material
Professional anti-vibration material with a thickness of 4 mm from the top Expert range, which was completely redesigned in 2021. Atom consists of two types of newly developed sealants, each of which fulfills a different function. Two-thirds of the material consists of the upper layer of innovative bitumen, which has a 20% higher stiffness than the previous version and will allow the highest efficiency to filter out vibrations even in the most heavily loaded areas. The second layer, made of a special lightweight sealant, stands out in addition to its low weight for its extreme adhesion, which has been increased by 15%. The upper side is equipped with a strong aluminum foil with a square pressed structure for even higher material rigidity. The result is a top-quality anti-vibration material with an acoustic loss factor exceeding 0.60 units, which easily copes with vibrations and low-frequency noise. Atom is of course resistant to water, moisture, oils and extreme temperatures, has anti-corrosion properties and retains the same properties in winter and summer. For optimal comfort during work, we recommend heating the material to 50 degrees, but you can work comfortably even if it is stored at normal room temperature.Unique Comfortmat Atom material technology
Comfortmat Atom is produced using the unique patented BitFoil II technology, which enables double lamination of bitumen and its connection with aluminum foil at an almost molecular level. Atom has a special film, the production process of which uses the HotAL II double heat treatment technology. This guarantees increased rigidity of the film while maintaining excellent flexibility during work. The new inFliz technology for the simple application of the butyl mixture on aluminum foil allows for a complete absence of air between the layers, and thanks to a more even distribution over the entire surface, it significantly improves the properties of the materials. The new design with a grid on the foil helps in cutting the material, facilitates installation and also protects Comfortmat products from counterfeits.

Where to apply the Comfortmat Atom anti-vibration material
You can apply the Comfortmat Atom anti-vibration material almost anywhere where you need to reduce vibrations and resonances. However, due to the thickness of 4 mm and the high acoustic loss factor, the material is particularly suitable for areas with a very high vibration load. A suitable area of use is especially the floor, engine partition and front and rear wheel arches. A thickness of 4 mm is unnecessarily thick for other surfaces of the vehicle. In our article " how to choose an anti-vibration material ", you will learn all other information about anti-vibration materials, their use, and the right choice. If you are not sure what materials and in what quantity to use for vehicle soundproofing, use our soundproofing configurator . The most common uses of the Comfortmat Atom anti-vibration material:- Floor
- The bottom of the trunk
- Front metal wheel arches
- Rear metal wheel arches
- Engine bulkhead
- Central tunnel
- Torpedo

Acoustic Loss Factor (MLF)The acoustic loss factor (in English, mechanical loss factor) expresses the ability of the material to absorb propagating sound and change the energy of vibrations created by the sound into thermal energy. The theoretical maximum loss factor is 1, which means no vibration. For example, non-sound-proof steel with a thickness of 1 mm has a loss factor of approx. 0.001 at 200 Hz. Therefore, the higher the loss factor, the better. By combining damping materials, it is possible to significantly increase the loss factor to values approaching 1. | 0.60 |
