Toyota Camry - SQ audio system

Toyota Camry and demanding sound quality installation, on which we worked for over 100 hours. We were approached by a very demanding client who had an absolutely precise idea of the result of his car's sound system. A client with refined hearing and huge demands not only on sound quality, but also on the actual execution of the installation, with a focus on an uncompromising sound experience within the given budget. When planning the installation, we had to take into account not only the selection of suitable components, but also the correct location of the speakers using several non-traditional solutions. It was necessary to modify the A-pillars to accurately route the tweeters as well as the original factory center speaker grilles in the dash to ensure optimal soundstage and speaker frequency response. Together with the client, we also decided to install two subwoofers. One found its place in the luggage compartment and the other in the interior of the car with the aim of achieving the full frequency range of low frequencies. From the components, we chose a three-band system from the traditional Italian manufacturer Steg from the second highest Master Stroke series, not only for its very high sound quality, but also for its discreet design suitable for this installation. The central speaker with a diameter of 100 mm, which represents the ideal size for reproducing medium frequencies, was also a big attraction. Thanks to the modification using laminate, MDF rings made on CNC and covering in leatherette of a suitable color, we managed to implement the center speakers in the dashboard without significantly interfering with the interior of the car. An important part of the installation is also a top six-channel Zapco analog class A/B amplifier, which provides the speakers with faithful sound and at the same time infinite power. He is accompanied by two other amplifiers from the same manufacturer designed for the mentioned two subwoofers from the top American manufacturer JL Audio. We have traditionally chosen the Helix processor from the German audio masters at Audiotec-Fischer for our advanced DSP installations for sound setup. Of course, such an installation also includes top-quality OFC copper cabling to ensure lossless sound transmission. We left nothing to chance and also completely damped the car to avoid all vibrations and unwanted sounds that could affect the desired musical experience. Perhaps the most important thing comes at the end of the installation. Sound measurement with a professional JL Audio Max measuring system with 5 microphones, which will allow, after professional adjustment, to adapt the sound not only to the listener, but especially to this particular car with all the obstacles of this imperfect environment for sound. So we will set the measured results in the DSP processor program, fine-tune the sound in detail according to our preferences, and then we will have the final adjustment with our demanding client. In order for such an installation not to lose its meaning, it was important to choose a new signal source as well. Although the factory unit offers simple and intuitive control, it more or less affects the resulting sound even with its precise settings. The ideal choice is to use an external hi-res player, which will enable lossless listening to music in maximum quality. The second solution is to install a Hi-Res Bluetooth module, which will provide a similar service via your smartphone. In both cases, you can use your own collection of music files, or one of the streaming services such as Tidal. Installation result? Sound for very demanding listeners, which will allow a truly breathtaking musical experience with all the details that the author of the recording intended.
